Golden beets! Yum. I got these from my farmer’s market yesterday and just cooked them up. I love knowing the farmer who hand picked these. Here are some benefits to eating locally grown foods – they are full of flavor because the crops are picked at their ripeness versus being harvested early in order to be shipped and distributed to your local retail store; they also have more nutrients because the food has a shorter time between harvest and your table; you can ask what practices the farmers use to raise and harvest the crops. When you know where your food comes from and who grew it, you know a lot more about what you are actually putting in your body. #eatlocalgrown
